Nightlife around alton towers - weekend stay?

Hi, me and 7 mates are heading down to alton towers for the weekend. We are staying in an express by holiday inn in stoke on trent. We plan to go to alton towers on saturday for the day but as we are staying for the weekend we plan to venture out into the nearest city centre on the friday and saturday night ! Looking for someone with knowledge of where we may find good. We are 19/20, like dance,rnb,hip hop type music, average guys basically from glasgow. Any help on club/pub names and types of music and the clientel they attract would be ideal, even somewhere to grab some grub ! cheers
