How is Baylor ranked #1 and UCONN #2 if UCONN defeated Baylor and they have the same record?

Makes no sense even if Baylor is a better team they lost to the the team under them is the BCS involved? strength of schedule? both lost to ranked opponents? UCONN lost to Stanford.... I really dont understand this Women's Basketball it is so wide open you have less than 10 good to great teams and the rest are average to poor overall... Is there a computer involved seriously or does it go on votes and is a popularity contest?
