How to get in the fisherman industry?

My boyfriend has a life long dream to become a fisherman or something of the sort as it's a great pion of his. He's 19 and goes fishing as a hobby about once a week but he has no idea how to get into the fishing industry. If anyone has any advice it would be great, thanks.
