My mom is coming to help for a week when the new baby is born - how do I explain to her...?

I lived in the downtown area of a big city a few years back. Non-residents who parked in the street got ticketed. But, when one of my roommates would have a weekend guest, they would get a permit from the city for the guest to park on the street. You should see if something like that is available for your neighbourhood. Your neighbours might not like it, but your mom could park and not get ticketed or towed.
