Gall bladder removal?

I was wanting to hear people's personal experiences when they had to have surgery to get their gallbladder removed. I had ultrasound, MRI, and HIDA scan. MRI and ultra were ok but HIDA shows that functioning isnt right. They are saying I need surgery based off of the HIDA scan. Is this what happened to other people? How did they determine if u would have ur gall bladder removed? are there really any other options besides removal if the functioning is messed up? just wondering because it is a hospital in a small town diagnosing me and they just dont seem that great to me/know what they are doing. please share any experiences and how they diagnosed you please?
