Ebay cancel bids?

I am selling an item on ebay and I told someone that I would add a buy it now to the auction for $10 but then decided that I didnt want to. I hadnt emailed the person yet to let them know i didnt want to do it after all, and they emailed me that they already put their max bid at $10. I feel bad so if they want me to cancel the bid, would they be able to bid on the item again after I cancelled their bid? Where it says how to cancel bids it says "Bids cannot be reinstated once they've been canceled."
